Experience a private tour of the Mackenzie King sites with a history specialist . For true History buffs!
Mackenzie King was Canada’s longest-serving Prime Minister (1919-1948).
He goes down as one of the most exceptional leaders we have ever had. Unraveling the mystery starts on Parliament Hill at the Galahad statue, Wellington & Metcalfe. We’ll probably be in time to catch the Changing of the Guard as well. (July and August only)
Next stop Laurier House, willed to King by his predecessor. John, your guide, and the professional staff will be able to help you understand many of the man’s peculiarities and habits. Who was Pat? How did King and his mother get along?
Following our time in the visitor centre and our tour of the house itself, we leave from there to Kingsmere in the scenic Gatineau Hills where the PM spent his summers. Walk through the ruins and learn their story. Later in the the afternoon we’ll go for High Tea at Moorside, his country home. New chef and menu this season.
Return is by another Parkway route.
As of October 20th the Gatineau portion of the tour is unavailable again until May 2018
